The Transformation of a forgotten frame.

In 2023, just after, moving to Morgantown WV, I wandered into Eloquence Antiques over at the old Mountaineer mall. A place brimming with history and hidden treasures. Among the many relics of the past, I found this ornate vintage frame— aged weathered and full of untapped potential. Its intricate floral carvings once bright with gold and silver tones, had dulled with time. But beneath the wear I saw something more: a perfectly imperfect canvas for gothic revival.

Determined to breathe new life into this forgotten piece, I gave it a modern gothic Halloween transformation. A deep, glossy black make over turned the delicate floral details into something bold and dramatic, enhancing every curve and engraving. The result was a spooky yet elegant masterpiece, the perfect frame for my oddities wall collection matching perfectly. Simple yet transforming. the pictures don’t do this dramatic piece justice.
